You are bidding on a large, very rare original antique engraving from an 1870s French illustrated journal.
It depicts a joyful garden scene. A beautiful woman lifts a newfoundland dog puppy in the air as the mother (Landseer color) greets her, and the father (brown or black) looks on. A cat lazes in the background. Sunflowers are in bloom. Just beautiful. This is one of my favorite dog prints because of the artistry AND the peaceful and happy feeling it portrays.
The caption reads:  Amiable Tableau
which roughly translates to:  Friendly vista
It is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10.5 x 14.5 inches (26.5 x 36.5 cm). The picture fills most of it, with a French caption below and text surrounding it.
The page is in excellent condition for its age.
